GABRIELA MAZZARELLO
Hi, my name is Gabriela Mazzarello. I’m a Photographer, Social Media Manager and Translator in English-Spanish and Italian. I studied Global Economics at University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) and then I graduated from University of Bologna with a master’s degree in Management of the Arts and Culture (GIOCA), composed of a multidisciplinary student body from all over the world.
I dedicate my time to what my passion really is, a mix of entrepreneurship and a deep interest in the arts and culture. I was always involved in poetry, music, dance and photography groups, so I met a lot of artists along the way. Especially in Bologna, when I was a host at the local Open Mic, which we held in-person and online during the pandemic and as an event photographer.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Since I was a kid I had a passion for social media, my dream was to build a group for the city where I grew up in Mexico where people could help each other which is now called Grupo de Ayuda (Mexicali) and has 4K members who are active almost everyday. It has changed the lives of people, because it is now an autonomous group, where they can make in-kind donations like food, clothes or exchange useful information, allowing for an independent space avoiding political or religious propaganda. This was the first project I managed when I was a teenager and with the help of my friend Francisco Alcantar, who is also an admin in the group, we see it growing through the years.
A few years later I kept on dedicating my efforts towards non-profits, I helped find volunteers for reforestation efforts at UCSC by curating a dedicated Facebook page, then I transitioned into grant-writing with Benvenuti Arts, a New York-based company in which we supported registered artistic non-profits fundraise for their projects like the Annual New York Dance Parade, which is the world’s largest display of cultural diversity.
As a SMM some of the biggest brands I collaborated with have been the Abbott Square Market a renowned event venue in Santa Cruz, CA with 9 restaurants, deeply related to the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History. My task was to help build an efficient Social Media strategy to get the restaurants to do deliveries as Covid regulations were constraining from small businesses to complex global economies. Later on, I worked with Horizon Sports TV, a streaming platform that broadcasts outdoor sports activities. My tasks here were focused on video content such as a reportage on Trento Film Festival interviewing the art director and unboxing videos in which I tried out products for Horizon Sports’ partner brands.
After that, I got onto bigger and bigger clients through Garage Raw, the marketing agency where I learned SMM at 360 degrees. Rocco Forte Hotel Group was one of the biggest clients I worked with, together with Hilton hotel group. I also worked with many wineries like Donna Fugata, and Caviro group which include Leonardo da Vinci and Tavernello.
So my latest experience was with Caffeina, where I had the pleasure of working with clients like Samsung, Paramount plus, La Sportiva, Monkey 47, Rado, Buzzoole, Peroni, Twinings, Chiesi, Elica and most frequently with Amway.
I’ve been based in Italy for 8 years now, yet I spent 10 years in the US, 10 years in Mexico and a few months in India and Nepal co-creating a Spiritual Travel Blog called “That’s Deep!”
